algotutor software package provides program for observing the intermediate steps of algorithm, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install algotutor
algotutor is installed in your system.
Make ensure the algotutor package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep algotutor *
You will get with algotutor package name, version, architecture and description in a table
